In honor of the 2022 Black History Month Theme: Black Health and Wellness, LMCS donated to the Walker County African American Museum and Cultural Center in Lafayette, Ga.
Beverly Foster, the WCAAHAA president, is quoted by saying in a local article, “We feel that historical diversity will be of assistance to Walker County in its present steps of economic and educational advancement,” and “This museum will represent the entire Walker County citizenship, as African American history is everyone’s history. African Americans have been known to be contributing to Walker County since circa 1539.”
A donation to the Walker County African American Museum and Cultural Center was presented to Mr. Stacy Suttle this past week by LMCS CEO Heather Roesner.
The address for the museum is 309 N. Main Street in Lafayette, right across from the Marsh House.
